For Funders

We’re scaling impact.

Mitigating the ecological and human health impacts of detrimental wildfires is imperative for Alaskans and benefits the globe. The boreal is warming and more intense fire weather is driving the increase in size and severity of wildfires. In addition to the significant public health and infrastructure costs, Alaska’s shifting wildfire regime carries the potential to trigger further global-scale carbon loss, intensifying climate warming. Most public wildfire investment in Alaska goes to suppression—after the fire is burning. Fire Adapted Alaska prioritizes investment in pre-fire prevention, mitigation and adaptation.

Alaska’s wildfire system is complex and our landscapes are vast. We’re proud to work in partnership with the following funders to build Alaska’s fire adapted capacity.
